We are negotiating now with a number of groups with panzers, it's looking likely that we will have them. We'll announce here and on the Facebook page as soon as we know.

Registration will open in late April or early May just after our final inspection trip to Fort Stanton confirm everything. We'll be up there cleaning barracks, confirming food, facilities and battle sites.

Hope to see you there!

Last year tanks and vehicles were limited to the roads only. Next year we have a location that we will be able to take vehicles off road which makes it a less one dimensional battle. However we still have the regulations of New Mexico (no oversize loads on the roads on Sunday) to work around. Also fuel for transporting these monsters was very high this time... lots of variable to work with to add heavy vehicles...

O.K. my friend,After many hours of searching,I found it,definetive proof that some Heer troops did indeed wear the same tropical boots that were worn in N.Afrika. In the book, published by Schiffer, titled, Afrikakorps--Rommels tropical army in original color,on pages 160 thru 167,pictures taken by the Propagana Kompanie of the DAK stabsfeld, there are photo's ,in color,of troops in Sicily and Italy, wearing both the Tropical Hi-boot,and the lower cut version known as tropical combat shoes. It is known that some troops were on leave or in hospital when Panzer Armee Afrika surrendered in Tunisia. Some of these troops were then attatched to the Hermann Goering Panzer Div.as part of a Kampfgrup, as grenadiers. Also, prior to the surrender ,members of the Brandenberg Div.along w/some of the men of the Sonderverband 288 unit {borrowed } some fishing boats and sailed to Sicily. These latter gentlemen are the unit my Komrads and I will be portraying along w/our Kubelwagon and MG-34's,MP-40's etc.etc.Brandenbergers and the Sonderverbanden Kommando 288 were the Afrika Korps. version of the British SAS,who worked mostly behind the lines. True to form ,We shall be wearing the golden yellow Waffenfarb of Cavalry/Recon units. I'll be happy to email you the pic's from the book if you like,or I can bring the book w/us for your evening reading pleasure. Please let me know ,which you prefer.Danke.
